We offer a comprehensive array of Career Transition Services tailored to each client’s career needs, and provide the skills and tools necessary to make informed career management choices:
Orientation — An introduction to the program, services, and Center resources. This session often includes a tour to familiarize clients with the environment.
Career Counseling — Counselors arrange consultation sessions to discuss goals and job-search strategies; schedule and interpret assessments; assist individual clients with career exploration; make training referrals; monitor progress; and coordinate placement assistance.
Career Assessments — Candidates for classroom training benefit from assessments as a prerequisite. The assessments consist of a battery of seven aptitude tests and an interest inventory used as guidelines for training referrals.
Job Search Work Teams — Bi-weekly sessions of a group of eligible clients to discuss job-search strategies, employment trends, share job leads, and provide support and encouragement.
Job Development / Placement Assistance — Job Developers work with employers and Career Consultants to identify and share potential employment opportunities, coordinate job fairs and generate Job Leads. The Center provides the tools, resources, and assistance necessary for self-directed job search process.
Workshops — In addition to the Career Transition two-day workshops, clients are encouraged to participate in intensive four-hour workshops on resume writing, interviewing, networking, and Internet job search. All workshops include comprehensive handouts, and valuable resources.
Training — Approved classroom training programs for demand occupations are available to eligible clients. Counselors refer clients based on career exploration, labor-market information, and assessment results.
